As a business owner, I have found that many companies and businesses today have started to go along with the trend of packaging their products in what is known as green or sustainable product packaging. Three types of retail packaging
Packaging is defined as the container that is in direct contact with the product itself. Its main purposes are to hold, protect, and preserve the product being shipped and sold in order to facilitate handling. In addition, product packaging also helps to identify what is contained within.
While a consumer may not interact with all of them, there are three types of packaging. Primary packaging is that which is in direct contact with the product. One example is the bag inside a cereal box that holds the cereal and keeps it fresh.
Secondary packaging is designed to hold one or more primary packages. It serves to protect and identify the product and communicate the attributes of it. Secondary packaging is usually thrown away or recycled when the product is used or consumed.
